Southport offers 188 duplex-style housing units on short and long-term rental basis. Located in a beautiful, quiet environment, Southport’s two, three or four bedroom units come complete with a refrigerator, stove and a single car garage. 

To enhance Southport's residential area, the exterior designs vary by unit to add character and individuality. In an ongoing effort to meet the changing needs of the tenants and community, we are continually improving and renovating the units to make them more comfortable, energy efficient, and appealing.

Southport is a mere 5 minutes from Portage la Prairie, and has school bus services for children attending school. A playground is also located on-site.

Residential Application Process

The following steps must be completed in applying for residency in the Southport Residential Complex:

A completed application form must be submitted to the Southport Property Management Department, or mailed to the address above.

Application approval and security deposit (equal to half a month's rent) will be done when a unit becomes available. An estimated housing time of six months or longer can be expected.

Once approved, the tenant may choose an address based on availability.

Tenants will be required to pay future rent by pre-authorized payments.

You may lose your security deposit if you decide not to move in and the landlord may claim against you for loss of rent.

Southport will make every attempt to provide affordable housing for commercial and aviation on-site tenants where possible. 

An incoming condition report will be completed by the landlord and tenant on the move in date and keys to the unit will be issued at that time. No keys will be issued prior to rent being paid and the report being completed.
